The moment you’ve all been waiting for is here.
After 2 months of research, planning, and experimentation we are proud to announce our plans to help the Burmese people of Mae Sot and earn money to fund our ministries in Thailand and Burma.
We are opening a BURGER RESTAURANT!
- Employ both Thai and Burmese workers
- Provide good pay and consistent work
- Training in business, management, and service
- Financially support and expand our current ministry
There are so many people who live in this city and they have tons of different backgrounds. We have Thai, Burmese, and Westerners (people from Westernized countries) all living together. With the vast melting pot of different cultures in Mae Sot and lack of specialized restaurants, we are confident that opening up a burger restaurant will be a success.
The goal is to open the restaurant in 5 weeks. We’re naming it, “Famous Ray’s” after our long-term missionary partner, Ray Ward. It’s going to be fun and the food is going to be delicious. We’ve already experimented with recipes!
What We Need…
In order to open our restaurant and fulfill our 5 Goals above, we are relying on you to invest financially in this vision and advocate on our behalf.
We’ve started a capital campaign to raise $25,000 and get this project started. $25,000 seems to be an outrageous amount of money, but comparatively, the start up capital required to open a restaurant in the U.S. is nearly 5 times that amount. Ultimately we are looking to reach this goal in four weeks so that we can have our grand opening and be serving burgers and fries 5 weeks from today.
You are invited to join us on our capital campaign, Burgers for Burma. Please help by investing in The Journey and our projects so we can reach our objectives, open a restaurant, and help the Burmese people. All donations are tax-deductible. You can donate online through PayPal or by mailing a check:

You can also help by advocating for our cause. Please share our blog, videos, photos, and website with friends. We’re looking for people who are willing to set-up fundraisers on our behalf. Email me if you have any questions or need some materials to help out!
Tomorrow I will tell you about my visit to Burma! I’m so excited to share what I saw in our village, what God was saying, and how selling burgers can help change things for some very lovely new friends across the border!
